Principal's Message

Principal's Message

Hello MAKO families and students!

I’m Melissa Geiger, honored to join you as the new Principal for the 2025–2026 school year. With over 20 years of experience in education, as a teacher, coach, and administrator across both elementary and secondary schools, I am thrilled to bring my passion and dedication to our vibrant school community.

At the heart of my leadership is a deep belief in the power of a strong, positive school culture. Whether it’s our spirited Friday Flag ceremonies or lively school assemblies, I love creating a fun, engaging learning environment where every student feels seen, supported, and inspired.

This year, my goal is to build community through open communication, mutual trust, and meaningful collaboration between students, staff, and families. Together, we’ll continue to grow Vista del Mar into a place where every Mako thrives academically, socially, and emotionally. From TK-8, we are building something great.

I am beyond excited to be part of the Mako family, and I can’t wait to embark on this incredible journey with all of you.

Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!

Warmly,
Melissa Geiger
Principal, Vista del Mar TK–8
